This latest Ardbeg Committee Release from the legendary mind of Dr Bill Lumsden is cloaked in mystery much like the shape shifting, water-spirit Kelpie from Scottish folklore that it’s named after. It was laid to rest in both ex-bourbon casks and Russian virgin casks crafted from oak grown in the Adygea Republic on the coast of the Black Sea known for imparting incredible deep flavour notes into the whisky.
Virtually unattainable, this committee release was only made available via the Ardbeg website in March 2017 for Ardbeg Committee members only and sold out in under 5 minutes. The wider release Ardbeg Kelpie bottled at the lower ABV of 46% was officially launched on Ardbeg Day, June 4, 2017. A true collectable piece of Ardbeg wisdom in a bottle.
