A handful of bottles have come across our desks of this limited-edition whisky that was a ‘Distillery Only’ exclusive released back in 2014, created from a marriage of ex-bourbon casks and first-fill and refill sherry casks. The expression was commissioned to raise money for the NHI (North Highland Initiative), a charity focused on supporting fragile, rural communities across the Northern Highlands.

The whisky gets its name from the Kildalton Cross, a 1,200-year-old icon of Scotland that was carved in the 8th century that stands some 6 miles along the coast from the Ardbeg Distillery.
