This BenRiach 9-Year-Old 2008 (cask 2047) yielded only 838 bottles and is one of a seven bottle series that forms the BenRiach single cask selection; Batch 14. This expression was matured for 9 years with peated malts and carries the strongest ABV of the collection at 63.2%. It’s also only one of two bottles in the collection to be aged in a Port pipe.
All whiskies in Batch 14 are non-chill-filtered with no added colour and are individually hand-numbered.
Please note: There was an issue with the sorting of these Batch #14 bottles and tins either from the source or when distributed in Australia and as a result the individual bottle numbers on the tins DO NOT match up with the individual bottle numbers on the bottle labels.
Colour: Polished mahogany.
Nose: Red fruit compote and waves of sweet peat combine with a mild sweet spice.
Palate: Red summer fruits hold a vibrant sweet tobacco spice note which balances perfectly.
Finish: Long peat smoke character.
