This BenRiach 9-Year-Old 2008 (cask 7880) yielded only 280 bottles and is one of a seven bottle series that forms the BenRiach single cask selection; Batch 14. This bottling was distilled using peated malts and then matured for 9 years in a first-fill Marsala hogshead carrying an ABV of 59.6%.
All whiskies in Batch 14 are non-chill-filtered with no added colour and are individually hand-numbered.
Please note: There was an issue with the sorting of these Batch #14 bottles and tins either from the source or when distributed in Australia and as a result the individual bottle numbers on the tins DO NOT match up with the individual bottle numbers on the bottle labels.
Colour: Rich crimson.
Nose: Impacting blasts of sweet peat compliment a robust, concentrated blackcurrant syrup.
Palate: Rich blackcurrant compote holds a dramatic burst of deep wood smoke. Crisp oak spices and hints of black pepper.
Finish: Warm and full bodied, long finish.
