Producer’s tasting notes.

NOSE: At 50.5 % the addition of spring water is essential to allow this malt to open up and reveal some incredible aromas. Initially you are greeted with sweet floral notes of vibrant gorse, honeysuckle and sweet peas that work well with slightly briney undertones. Close your eyes and you are walking along Islay’s rugged coast with the sun tickling your face and the wind in your hair. Breathe deeper and you are transported to the Pomerol grape fields of ChateuLafleur. You are drawn right in to a glorious picnic of summer strawberries, blackberries, raspberries and juicy plums. Pomegranate and watermelon bring an enchanting deliciousness that will send waves of pleasure coursing through you. Through the fruits powers sweet vanilla and warm toasted oak reacquainting you with the original bourbon cask maturation. It’s an astounding concoction born from the superb vintage Laddie enhanced in Exquisite Chateau Lafleur French wine casks for 9 months.
PALATE: The mouth feel is irresistibly smooth and silken, with light oils coating the palate but never overpowering it. The complex flavours; although subtle, are harmonised in the most perfectly constructed symphony orchestra. The fresh red fruits continue to sing like choirs of angels, while deep vanilla exudes a quiet confidence in playing an ever-present background role. The malted barley is there to play the final fanfare, a gentle reminder to the simple origins of this astounding malt.
