Description
Distilled in 2011, from the 2010 harvest of biodynamic barley grown by Dr Richard Gantlett at Yatesbury House Farm, this unpeated spirit was later filled in to first fill ex-American oak casks. The Bruichladdich ‘The Biodynamic Project’ Single Malt Whisky was then matured for 10 years and bottled at 50% abv within the distillery’s gates. The expression is the second, small-batch, experimental ‘Project’ bottling following on from Bruichladdich’s ‘Ternary Project’ that was released in April 2021.

The whisky demonstrates the power of connection; from farmer to glass and the release conforms with Bruichladdich’s commitments to reduce secondary packaging and is sold without a tin.

Adam Hannett, Head Distiller comments;
“The fruity character of our unpeated spirit has married really well with the biodynamic malt. Apple and pear notes on the spirit are intensified and by adding a tear drop of water, the floral notes burst through with lots of honeysuckle and rose.” There is an extra depth to the texture which carries the flavours beautifully”
