Official tasting notes:
“This particular bottling, finished in Oloroso casks since November 2020, has warming ‘Christmassy’ notes throughout. Our Panel highlighted notes of ginger bread, Christmas pudding, praline and caramel nougat”.

Description
Dailuaine – Such a quirky and fascinating distillery, and then Cadenhead’s work their magic for one great drinking experience. The whisky was laid to rest in 2008 and then finished in Oloroso sherry from 2020. Not too many of these around. It’s great whisky at a really well thought out price point.
About Dailuaine Distillery:
The Dailuaine distillery was built by William Mackenzie, a farmer from the Speyside town of Carron in 1852 and derives its name from the Gaelic ‘An dail uaine’ meaning ‘green valley’. Rarely seen as a single malt expression other than the occasional Flora & Fauna from owner Diageo, Dailuaine is one of the many hard-working distilleries which quietly provide fillings for blends such as Johhny Walker and independent bottlings for Gordon & MacPhail and Samaroli amongst others.
Interesting fact:
Chatting with the distributer, he mentioned that if Diageo runs out of Mortlach spirit for their blends, they turn to Dailuaine as a replacement!
