Another solid entry in Cadenhead’s Original Collection bottled at 46% ABV with natural colour. We’re big fans of Glenburgie and Cadenhead’s never disappoints in bottling their wares.
Cadenhead’s comments.
“After re-racking into port casks for around two years in August 2020, we felt that this whisky was not yet ready for bottling. Our team decided that the spirit had been slightly overpowered by the casks. As a result, the casks were then transferred into refill bourbon for around a year in October 2022 which has created a deliciously rounded dram”
About Glenburgie Distillery.
Glenburgie was founded in 1810 under the name ‘Kilnflat’ by William Paul. It is neighbours with Glenallachie and Glenspey. Over the years, Glenburgie distillery has mainly been used to produce Single Malt to be used in Blends. The spirit produced at the site is a major component in Ballantine’s Blended Whisky, as well as Old Smuggler.
Glenburgie’s production capacity stands at an impressive 4.2-million-liter capacity. The water used is taken from local springs in the distillery’s specific area of Speyside, Morayshire. With a handful of original bottlings, it’s the independent bottling scene that has Glenburgie flying high with delicious choices and unique cask finishes.
