Description
Fino sherry casks are often hit and miss with the dry nature of the sherry. So, Cadenhead’s, with their years of experience deciding to pair this sherry style with the beautiful, fresh and fruity Royal Brackla spirit, to create an incredibly balanced whisky with oodles of flavour.
Cadenhead’s comments.
“Royal Brackla was the first distillery in Scotland to be granted a royal warrant by King William IV and, to this day, is one of only three distilleries in Scotland to hold the royal title. Typically, light and fruity, re-racking into Fino casks in March 2022 has influenced this spirit perfectly, giving a floral layer alongside manuka honey, orange peel and pink grapefruit” – a delicious pour indeed
About Royal Brackla distillery.
Royal Brackla was built in 1812 by Captain William Fraser of Brackla House on the estate of Cawdor Castle. The distillery has a production capacity of 4 million litres, most of which goes into the blending industry. The distillery uses spring water from the Cursack Springs for production.
Although there are a couple of warehouses on site, not a single drop of Royal Brackla matures on the distillery’s site. All of the maturing Single Malt is transported to a site owned by Dewar’s in South Lanarkshire that has 18 newly built warehouses, which are a combination of dunnage and racked systems
