Description
Here’s a banging little Aultmore from the bountiful Speyside region with quite the age statement at 20-years-old. The whisky was laid to rest in 1997 in 2 x bourbon hogsheads and then bottled at cask strength in 2017 representing great value for money. As with all Cadenhead expressions, the whisky is non-chill filtered with no added colouring.
About Aultmore Distillery.
Aultmore, meaning ‘big burn’ in Gaelic was built in 1895 by Benrinnes-owner Alexander Edward, and sits just north of Keith in the heart of Speyside. The distillery uses water from the Auchinderran Burn and is owned by John Dewar & Sons Ltd. The distillery does release their own age-statement single malt whiskies, with a fair portion going to indie bottlers and the majority of their production going into the Dewar’s blend.
