Made at the Tormore distillery, this fruity Speysider was laid to rest in ex-bourbon casks for 13 years, before being bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in 2018 as part of its Discovery Series. Controlled by Pernod-Ricard since 2005, the Tormore distillery was completed in 1960 was the first new distillery to be built in Scotland in the 20th century.
This Discovery range is curated to offer an utterly dependable and consistent choice of G&A’s fine whiskies where each expression sits within the bold flavour profiles of either sherry, smoke, or bourbon. The series is colour coded with green meaning the whisky was bourbon cask matured.
Aroma: Fruity and lively: abundant tropical fruit notes of pineapple, grapefruit, coconut, and freshly squeezed lime weave with hints of freshly cut grass and toasted malt.
Taste: Creamy, the sweetness of the vanilla, velvety milk chocolate, and baked apple are perfectly balanced by zesty citrus peel. Undertones of plump apricot and juicy mango develop.
Finish: Delightfully delicate with gentle lingering herbal tones finish with nuances of charred oak.
