Description
The style of maturation for this 1 Litre Laphroaig is derived from three types of barrels and traditions. Ex-bourbon casks, 19th century style Quarter casks and finally Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks.

The first maturation, (just like the Laphroaig 10-year-old) is in ex-bourbon barrels. The whisky is then transferred into Quarter casks which impart an additional depth and fullness before the final maturation in large PX casks. These large oak vessels originally contained the distinctly rich PX sherry from Spain for a sweeter and full-bodied experience which perfectly complement the peat-smoke tang.

This expression has the old ‘all-white’ labelling from 7-8 years ago before Laphroaig updated their Triple Matured, PX cask packaging to the more common horizontal, maroon style.
