Nose: Earthy, smoky depth shows itself from the off with bonfire ash, baked fruit, smoked peanuts, and parkin. Treacle toffee, burnt biscuits, mulled Ribena, and roasted coffee grounds follow, with a touch of tar on the tail.
Palate: Dense peat smoke and chewy toffee lead the way, with robust oak and balanced spice. Notes of cinder toffee, stewed plums, and a hint of cassis support warming hints of black pepper.
Finish: Black coffee, roasted walnuts, smoked caramel, grilled peach, smoked almonds, drying spice, tobacco, and ashen charcoal. Robust yet balanced, right to the end.
