Official tasting notes:
Nose: An unmistakable Sherry influence presents itself from the beginning, with rich notes of date syrup and raisins kicking off this full-bodied dram.
Palate: A tannic, spicy element is introduced in the palate, along with notes of cola cubes, cherry menthol, cinnamon and caramel. The typical Springbank characteristics hold their own against the heavy PX influence in an apparent oiliness and damp, dunnage note.
Finish: The tannic element continues through to the finish, and PX qualities come to the forefront in notes of sultanas and rich spices.

Description
Springbank have just unleashed this first release in their latest five part ‘Sherry Series’ to the Australian market in the form of a rare 10-year-old that was matured for 7 years in refill bourbon barrels followed by 3 years in fresh Pedro Ximenez Hogsheads.
To safeguard Springbank’s distinctive flavour profile, the distillery has gone with a fairly short three-year maturation period in PX casks due to the fact that PX is more active by its very nature with huge sherry notes on the palate and additional maturation could prove too much and overwhelm the entire drinking experience.
About the ‘Sherry Series’
Surfing the wave of the successful Local Barley series, Springbank is releasing a new set of five sherry-matured whiskies, starting from 2022 through to 2026 with Australia receiving them approx. 6 months after the UK release dates.
Each of the 5 whiskies will be partially matured in a different variety of sherry cask in the following order: Pedro Ximénez, Palo Cortado, Amontillado, Fino and Manzanilla with the Manzanilla and Palo Cortado releases the first of their kind for the distillery.
