Description
It’s fantastic to see the Campbeltown folks flexing their experimental nous with this expression as the distillery is often known to stay in their proven, somewhat conservative lane, and what an entry this little fella is. The whisky was drawn from a combination of 55% Sherry, 35% Bourbon and 10% Rum barrels and is been lauded as one of the most complex Local Barley releases to date. And when Serge Valentin @Whisky Fun rates it at 91 points, you know your in for something very special.
With a release of 15,000 bottles world-wide, this 11-year-old single malt was made with ‘Belgravia’ barley once again that was grown within a few miles of Springbank on the Kintyre Peninsula at Glencraigs farm.
The local barley range is trading for astronomical prices in the secondary market due to the overwhelming demand, and the minimal allocation Australia receives of this revered beauty only feeds into this narrative. We’re hoping this whisky reaches your lips to enjoy the quality of a quintessential Springbank rather than been flipped at the first opportunity. 😉
Please note: Springbank labels almost always arrive from the UK with minor scuffing and signs of wear on the top of the front labels. Unfortunately, this is unavoidable so please take careful consideration of this fact prior to purchasing.
