Official tasting notes:
Nose: There are notes of parma violets, buttercream icing and peaches on the nose, along with hints of cola and grated ginger.
Palate: Soft peat smoke comes through on the palate, complemented by notes of red velvet cake, strawberry laces and icing sugar.
Finish: There is a waxiness in the finish with notes of orange rind and the continuation of the peat smoke.

Description
Springbank have just unleashed the 2nd release in their latest five part ‘Sherry Series’ to the Australian market in the form of this rare 10-year-old that was matured for 6 years in Bourbon casks followed by 4 years in Palo Cortado Sherry hogsheads made from Spanish oak.
To safeguard Springbank’s distinctive flavour profile, the distillery has aged the whisky in Palo Cortado sherry for 4 years as it’s not as active as the 1st release PX cask that was aged for 3 years.
About the ‘Sherry Series’
Surfing the wave of the successful Local Barley series, Springbank is releasing a new set of five sherry-matured whiskies, starting from 2022 through to 2026 with Australia receiving them approx. 6 months after the UK release dates.
Each of the 5 whiskies will be partially matured in a different variety of sherry cask in the following order: Pedro Ximénez, Palo Cortado, Amontillado, Fino and Manzanilla with the Manzanilla and Palo Cortado releases the first of their kind for the distillery.
