Tasting notes: 88 points: maltadvocate.com Reviewed by: Gavin Smith in 2014
Malt, chocolate, and honey figure on the nose, along with a contrasting marine note in the background. Unctuous and rich on the palate, with soft fruit, almonds, brittle toffee, and lots of spice. The finish is lengthy and earthy, with caramel and vanilla notes ultimately being superseded by oak and sea salt.

Bottling Notes
Having first been distilled in 1997, Hazelburn is the newest whisky to be produced at the Springbank distillery taking its name from one of the distilleries of Campbelltown’s past. Hazelburn gains it’s light, fruity and subtle character from unpeated barley that is air dried and distilled three times in old, copper stills.
With a limited run of 12,000 bottles, this unpeated Hazelburn 10-year-old commemorates the 17th and 18th centuries where Rundlets & Kilderkins of whisky were commonly sold directly to local gentry from the distilleries in Campbeltown. What are Rundlets & Kilderkins you ask? They’re simply small oak casks equal to an imperial measurement of volume of 18 gallons (68 litres) that is said to fast track the maturity of the spirit due to the accelerated interaction between the wood and the whisky.
