Producer’s tasting notes:
NOSE: Fragrant with notes of sweet confectionery and fruit salad giving way to sugared almonds, sherbet and soft fruits.
PALATE: Peppery with light tannins. The sweetness is continued alongside dried fruits, raisins and the subtle hint of coconut shavings.
FINISH: Dark sugars and chocolate to the fore with pineapple custard, vanilla, stewed fruits and a touch of bung cloth all present in the medium dry finish.

Bottling Notes
Having first been distilled in 1997, Hazelburn is the newest whisky to be produced at the Springbank distillery taking its name from one of the distilleries of Campbelltown’s past. Hazelburn gains it’s light, fruity and subtle character from unpeated barley that is air dried and distilled three times in old, copper stills.
Six months before the much lauded Hazelburn Oloroso 13-year-old single malt whisky was released (also available in our portfolio), came this absolute peach from Springbank; the Hazelburn Barolo Cask 9-year-old.
After six years of resting in virgin bourbon barrels, the maturation was extended for a final 3 years in refill Barolo wine (red) hogsheads and bottled at a cask strength of 57.9% abv.
Only small amounts are allocated to the Australian market.
