“On the nose, it’s an immediate explosion of sherry and fruit: the sweetness of the PX is a great match for the usually very dry and sharp style of the spirit from this distillery, and the result is appetizing, with a pleasant balance of darkly rich and sour. Red and black cherries, plums, old bookstore, coffee and chocolate.
On the palate, it’s the ultimate sherry bomb: juicy and winey, chewy, but with a dry and astringent edge, very old school. Again, plenty of red cherries, a bit of sultana raisins, blood oranges, cinnamon, wet clay, and a touch of vermouth”

F—k me! I wasn’t expecting that. Tannins, followed by chocolate browny with macadamia nuts…hang on a sec…..in for another taste…yep that’s it…this is an Oreo biscuit in a barrel. Wow. A cream sponge in a sip. A gateaux in a glass. A guilty pleasure indeed – But I’m not a cake character.
