This Macallan 1851 Inspiration is a beautiful, unique and collectible release that was inspired by the original Macallan first distilled in 1851. The distillery tasted a select number of antique whiskies from around that time before setting about replicating them for this release. Everything about the whisky, from the flavour profile to the dumpy bottle that holds it, are based on the original Macallan from 1851 with the distillery going to great lengths to translate the character of the old with the new. For example, the surface of the original glass bottle had imperfections in places, with small air bubble trapped in the glass. All these flaws that were common to early Victorian glassware, were precisely copied in this replica bottle.

There are three versions of this 1851 Inspiration. This version with the normal cardboard presentation box. A version with a large and heavy presentation box, and then finally the rarest version, with a gothic typeset on the label.
