Tasting notes
NOSE: Fresh citrus fruits followed by oak and ginger
PALATE: Bitey and up front with traces of smoke and orange peel.
FINISH: Moderate and crisp with sustained spice.
70cl: 43% vol.
Age: 21 Years
Region: Speyside
Cask Type: Bourbon & Sherry
Bottler: Distillery Bottling
Triple cask matured for a minimum of 21 years in a combination of Bourbon and Sherry casks. The Macallan ‘Fine Oak’ range has weathered the storm it caused amongst the Macallan faithful when it was first released to deliver a remarkable and complex single malt.
This 21yo bottling is less than half the price of its 25-year-old ‘Fine Oak’ counterpart with some labelling this expression the superior single malt of the two. An interesting fact indeed.
