The Macallan has unveiled the fifth release in its highly collectible Edition Series, which
showcases the defining elements of the single malt through cask transparency and insights
into the whisky making process. The diverse range of natural colour which occurs
through the careful and meticulous management of spirit and wood at The Macallan
Distillery on Speyside. This is brought to life through a collaboration with the Pantone
Color Institute™, themselves masters of colour. Inspired by The Macallan’s natural colour
spectrum and the intricate whisky making process, Pantone created a new shade of purple
which was used as the main theme of this release. The rainbow’s most complex colour,
purple is chosen to explain the precision in our whisky making process at The Macallan.
