This 23-year-old began as a semi-annual bottling in 2005 made by Pappy’s grandson (Julian III) to honour his grandfather that would immediately sell out upon release.
In 2010, the distillery decided to make it a permanent member of the portfolio. It remains one of the rarest bourbon whiskies to purchase due to its extremely limited output only released annually in small batches.
Only a handful of this 2015 Family Reserve release made it to Australia and this is the Letter G series released in 2015. Laser coding indicates this bottle to be B1508310:46M, which translates to:
B = Buffalo Trace, 15 = bottled in 2015, 83 = on the 83rd day of the year, 10.46 = the time bottled in 24hr time, M = the bottling line.
