Sazerac Rye Whiskey symbolizes the tradition and history of New Orleans.
The history of Rye Whiskey dates back to the 1800’s, when saloons disguised as Coffee Houses, began lining the streets of New Orleans where local patrons were served toddies made with Rye Whiskey and Peychaud’s Bitters. The libation became known as the “Sazerac” and America’s first branded cocktail was born. This is the whiskey that started it all.

The design of the bottle is a tribute to the pre-civil war era when barrels of whisky were poured into clear, glass decanters to display the whiskey to potential buyers. The expression has one over 50 awards since 2006 and has a real cult following, for good reason too.
