Born in 1825, William Larue Weller was famous for being the 1st distiller to use wheat instead of rye in the mash bill when creating Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. He was an absolute giant of his time and we’re sure he’d be completely content knowing that today his whiskey is still uncut, unfiltered and ‘wheated’ using the same age-old technique he pioneered so many years ago.
