This Backwoods single malt second release sold out at the distillery in 24 hours.
Cask #13 began its life in the Barossa region hosting red wines, before finding its way to the Backwoods bond store. Leigh and Bree Atwood (owners and distillers at Backwoods) then filled the cask with their signature single malt spirit at 63.5% ABV. Then six months before decanting, they added water to lower the ABV to 55% which they bottled, and then at 46% alc which they also bottled. The distillery chooses this technique to explore how different ABVs interact with the cask during maturation.
