Description:
Already a sell-out at the distillery, the Backwoods team have used three varieties of Australian grown and malted barley in their mashbill before laying the new-make spirit to rest in ex-Apera casks. Chatting with Leigh and Bree Atwood (owners and distillers), they comment; “We matured the whisky for 2 years at a cask strength of 63.5% ABV. We then added water and brought it down to 58% ABV and gave it another year in the cask. We find that ageing at two ABV’s adds complexity”

The distillery decided to release two different ABV’s for this Batch #5 at 58% alc and another at 48% alc (also available on our virtual shelves).
