Official tasting notes.
A beautiful deep mahogany colour. Aromas of burnt toffee, sweet orange peel and vanilla pod. On the palate you can enjoy pantry spices of nutmeg and cinnamon and the unmistakable flavour of dried fig, raisins and apricot. Don’t be fooled, this is much more than a sticky PX release. The Oloroso dry sherry cask pairs and combines perfectly with the PX matured casks and is further developed by the addition of the PX finishing cask. This creates a wonderful balance and extended flavour, without being super sweet.

Description:
This second edition, winter release is once again dedicated to ‘Cailleach – Queen of Winter’. The Cailleach in Gaelic mythology is the goddess of the cold and winds, a fable that Head Distiller Robbie grew up with during his childhood in Glasgow. The Cailleach wields a powerful hammer used to level mountains, whip up deadly storms and freeze the ground wherever she touches. She is the keeper of winter, creator of storms and mother of all the Derwent goddesses and gods.
The Single Malt Whisky is a marriage of three casks; Oloroso, Pedro Ximenez and an Oloroso/Pedro blend cask, all vatted and finished in a 100L Pedro Ximenez Cask.
Already a sell-out at the distillery, Robbie and Emma have sent an allocation our way for our loyal supporters to enjoy as well.

This is an Old Kempton that got lost on the way to the bottle shop and enter up in the Lolly shop. Too sweet and one dimensional. Works well in a cocktail (1:1) with Guiness and Condensed milk.
