We’ll leave it to owner and independent bottler Tim Duckett to offer some insight into this expression.

Tim Duckett comments:
“Heartwood “Blend over Blackwoods” or BOB. Our first intentional blend using Oat whisky as a base. Stunning stuff. BOB is a blend of Oat, malt and peat from the Belgrove and Adams stables (+ a little bit from random distilleries to alter the flavour and textural profile). Casks are a combination of sherry and ports.

. It follows on from the international success of the TIB Blends #1, #2 and #3. BOB is something completely different, texture, flavour profile and sweetness seems to be in all the wrong places, in a good way. BOB has been dedicated to my father and the Blackwoods that grew on our farms on the NW Coast of Tasmania at Lileah and Trowutta. This whisky will shake the tree and will be entered in the UK competitions so watch this space”.
