A changing of the guard you say? Not just yet if you chat to Tim Duckett (owner and independent bottler of Heartwood whisky). Whisky From a Tool Box is the first release where Tim’s son Louie took over the blending duties after sourcing new-make spirit from Tasmania’s own Launceston Distillery and Fanny’s Bay Distillery. An independent bottler in his own right, Louie has some very exciting whisky and cask variations coming out soon under his own label, forging his own path.
The inspiration for the label name comes from Tim always having a whisky of the highest quality stashed away in his tool box for a sneaky dram, testament to how much he rates this particular bottling, it will be going STRAIGHT TO THE TOOL BOX!
With demand outstripping supply for this expression, Heartwood was forced to offer these bottles up at one per person to spread the whisky love as far and wide as possible. We’re also playing our small part in Tim’s vision with the limited allocation he sent our way.
