Official tasting notes.
Nose: Honey lashed orange Jaffa marry beautifully with Lindt dark chocolate and lemon marmalade on toast – proudly ensconced with a butterscotch cloak. Delicate green apple adds a crisp and floral zest.
Palate: Caramel quickly comes to the fore with hints of toffee apple and malt chocolate in cameo. Subtle cereal and oak notes provide a deft but delightful undertone. All the nuances of distillation come through elegantly.
Finish: Warming to the core, this expression is elegant with a smooth and reassuring medium length finish.

Description:
Following on from last year’s Voyager release (cask #20F10C04) 19-year-old comes Hellyers 2024 release 19yo from cask #20F10C03. It’s one hell of an age statement and once again, Hellyers Road has aged their whisky for 16 years in first fill American Oak bourbon casks before finishing for an additional 3 years in a single French oak liqueur cask. It’s a little pricey, but in the context of Tasmanian whisky and the 19yo age statement, it actually represents tidy value for money. 😉 With very minimal supply still available online, we have the majority of stock left so don’t miss this beauty because once they’re gone, they’re gone for good.
Potential investment grade whisky!
Hellyers Road is back with an almighty ROAR with stunning new packaging and a tweaked recipe. The distillery has well and truly steered their ship back to calmer waters and are kicking goal after goal. The malt type is the same, however, Fiona has tweaked the water ratios, the amount of yeast, salt additions to the mash, and the distillation practices.
Hellyers Road marketing manager Tycho Hugh comments:
“The updated packaging highlights elements of exploration, discovery and fortitude that are central to the brand identity. We’re proud of our brand and our heritage, but like any good whisky, we evolve with time”
