Description:
Here’s a rare little number from Highwayman consisting of their peated spirit aged in a 100L French oak Pedro Ximenez cask for 2.5 years and then finished in 200L American oak ex Heaven Hill Rye cask that aged LBD (Lord Byron Distillery) rum in it for almost 5 years. The whisky was then bottled un-chill-filtered at a cask strength of 55% alc.
The expression was named in tribute Highwayman’s Winter tour of 2023. With SOB standing for South of Byron. Blink and you would have missed this release and we’ve only got a handful to sell.

The ephemeral nature of Australian Craft whisky is one thing I find the most satisfying. Not in an elitist sense, just having the opportunity to participate in something truely unique. Like a spectacular meal, that special strawberry, or a “frozen moment” never to be repeated but replayed in happy memories. You had to be there. The foundations of life are made of such things – fleeting, unplanned, unexpected and often unheralded. This is one of those moments.
