Description:
This Lark Legacy HHF582B single malt is one of two bottlings the distillery released with an extraordinary heritage, crafted during Bill Lark’s tenure as Head Distiller at a renowned, neighbouring Tasmanian distillery. This precious whisky was nurtured, soaking up complexity and history under the careful watch of Bill, at a time when the industry was still in its infancy, before finding its permanent home in the Lark bond store.
Filled into casks HH581 and HH582 in January of 2001, the spirit spent the first 15 years of its life relatively undisturbed in original French Oak casks. In 2016, these two casks caught the eye of Lark’s Head Distiller Chris Thomson, who realised their potential to become something even more incredible with a little helping hand. So, he started the whisky on a finishing journey that has seen them married and matured into the exquisite whisky we share with you today.
Only available via ballot, the Lark distillery released a very small allocation for our virtual shelves. We also have the twin to this expression, the Lark Legacy Cask Two (HHF585A) available.
The Distillery comments:
“A marriage made in heaven! An exciting example of the artistry illustrated at every stage of the whisky-making process; a single malt meticulously nurtured and perfected from start to finish”
