Off the back of the enormous (sell-out) success of the First-Edition collaboration between Lark and Wolf of the Willows Brewing comes this Second Edition Wolf Release.
Once again, 100 litre Lark whisky casks were carefully selected by Wolf of the Willows Brewing, decanted, and sent on a journey across the Bass Strait. These casks were then filled with the Wolf’s Imperial Johnny Smoked Porter, left to age and work their magic for an average of 9 months before being emptied and returned to Tasmania, to be refilled with Lark single malt whisky.
The result is this Lark/Wolf release which sees Lark divert from its standard packaging to produce this visually stunning JSP-influenced single malt whisky that reflects an adventurous and collective journey.
Nose: Fragrant cigar box flavours intertwine with the damp earth of a smothered campfire.
Palate: Tart cherries, malty, vanilla, espresso, green olives, corned beef
Finish: Warming with a touch of brine, cigar leaf, returning to the smothered, (this time) distant campfire notes on the nose.
Overall: A unique whisky with many layers and a real musty quality (which I love) that I’m sure will benefit further when left to breath. The 54% abv is just right.
