Official tasting notes.
Nose: Sweet and complex aromas suggest butterscotch and Christmas muscatels.
Palate: Sweet caramel syrup and plum pudding spices join a clean, bright alcohol explosion which spreads across the palate to settle in and glow with some soft oaky tannins.
Finish: Hints of cherry cordial and some nutty undertones that clearly displays the quality of both the spirit and the wood in developing harmony.

Description:
The name of Spring Bay’s cask strength release, ‘Rheban’, is derived from the majestic 1500-acre sheep station just south of the distillery that overlooks Maria Island and the untamed and seductive Rheban beach.
The whisky was laid to rest in ex-port French Oak casks and then bottled at a cask strength of 58%alc. We love the fact that the distillery is releasing their whisky in 700ml bottles which is a real rarity these days, and been a small batch, cask strength expression – these Aussie gems won’t last long on our virtual shelves.
