Bottling Notes
The whisky was laid to rest in a 50L McWilliams cask (medium toast) that yielded 39 bottles due to the angels share and a slight leak in the cask. As all things beautifully random about whisky making, the owners (Cam and Suzi Brett) believe the leak added to the sweetness and the intensity of the whisky.
We also love the super-refreshing fact that the distillery is releasing their whisky in 700ml bottles which is a real rarity these days, and been a small batch, cask strength expression, this Aussie gem won’t last long on our virtual shelves. 😉
Quick fact – The name of Spring Bay’s Rheban line of whisky is derived from the majestic 1500-acre sheep station just south of the distillery that overlooks Maria Island and the untamed and seductive Rheban beach.
