Now here’s a rare TIB expression you rarely see in the wild – It’s the very first release from Tim Duckett’s Tasmanian Independent Bottler range that almost ‘never was’.
Tim had originally procured the full, 200L privately owned bourbon cask to bottle its contents for a gentleman at Highland Holdings (hence the HH). The bottling was never intended to be part of the TIB stable as the new-make spirit wasn’t purchased and matured by Tim, but had already spent the majority of the 13 years in the bourbon cask. Tim had bottled it as a cleanskin expression.
As fate would have it, when the bottles were filled and ready for shipment, circumstances changed and the owner wasn’t able to accept delivery of the 200 odd clean skin bottles, so Tim decided to keep the majority of them (approx. 180) and label them himself under the TIB brand as the inaugural expression.
