Description:
Tasmanian Independent Bottlers is owned and operated by whisky legend Tim Duckett who has bought us the magical Heartwood whisky lines throughout the years.

This release is the follow-up to TIB’s multi-award-winning Blend No.1 that was released in February 2021. Long sold out on Heartwood’s website and our virtual shelves, the expression was awarded Liquid Gold and the Best Blend in Australia from the World Whisky Awards.

For this release, Tim has sourced new-make oat spirit from Belgrove distillery and peated spirit from Adams distillery and then blended both whiskies together into a second sherry cask. Chatting to Tim about this release he mentioned that….”I married the two whiskies together and put them in to a second fill sherry cask, I wasn’t happy with the result after I decanted the cask so I took 7 litres of Adams whisky from another 2nd fill PX sherry cask and blended it in with the rest of the whisky. It added the sweetness I was after and the job was done”

Tim Duckett further comments;
“Can you remember the first TIB Blend? It did extremely well internationally and was awarded Liquid Gold and the Best Blend in Australia from the World Whisky Awards. Well, this blend is nothing like that. Yes, it is good and it is Oat and Malt but we have added peated whisky. It is also an astounding 53.4% ABV (hence a little more expensive). That was its sweet spot, after the addition of a little water. This is a different style of whisky altogether”.
