Official tasting notes.
A well-balanced whisky showcasing raisins, orange, vanilla, and a hint of cinnamon. It then evolves into a spicy, dry finish with drying oak and pink peppercorn spice. Finishing with discreet notes of dark chocolate, coffee and a creamy mouthfeel from the oats.

Description:
Rare Triple-Distilled Irish Whiskey
This is one of the two casks that went into the new “Martin Brereton” release from Transportation whiskey, (that we also have available in limited quantities). Owner and distiller, John Halton comments: “I’ve never released these separate deconstructed bottles of a whiskey before. They are extremely limited to just 26 bottles of each component”.
Savour this extraordinary 4.5-year-old whiskey. Initially matured in a rich Pedro Ximénez sherry cask before finishing in a second-fill bourbon barrel. Every drop captures the whiskey’s authentic character—bottled at natural cask strength, non-chill-filtered, and free from artificial colouring. With only 26 bottles ever produced, we’ve secured the only allocation available anywhere in Australia. Discover this limited-edition gem before collectors claim the last remaining bottles.
John Halton comments.
“This is a very special release named after the Silvermine Mountains in Tipperary. My great, great grandfather was one of the pioneers of Cygnet town in Tasmania and they named Silver Hill after the Silvermine Mountains in Tipperary, the county where he was born. I find these connections that people made between their motherland and the place they ended up a wonderful part of history. And I like to think the little hill must have brought some nice memories of the big mountains back at home”.
