Description
This unpeated, single cask, single malt whisky was distilled at the Allt-A-Bhainne Distillery in 2005 before being laid to rest in a, ex-bourbon cask and finished in an ex-sherry refill puncheon. It was then bottled at 59.9% ABV with an out-turn of 643 bottles and marks one of the older Infrequent Flyer expressions as their 20th release. Like all Infrequent Flyers bottlings, this whisky is bottled in its most authentic form – un-chill filtered with natural colour.
Limited stock has been allocated for the Australian market.
About Infrequent Flyers
The ‘Infrequent Flyers’ range is a series of single cask bottlings of Scotch whiskies brought to us by Alistair Walker, of Deanston, Tobermory, BenRiach, GlenDronach and Glenglassaugh fame. The expressions are predominantly single malts, though now and again Alistair does release a single grain. The brand name ‘Infrequent Flyers’ refers to the nature of many of the casks that are bottled – often whiskies from lesser-known distilleries that are of excellent quality, but have never been widely or consistently available.
About Allt-a-Bhainne Distillery
Allt-A-Bhainne (pronounced Alt-a-Vain) meaning ‘milk burn’ is a Scotch whisky distillery in the Speyside Region of Scotland, located just down the road from the well-known whisky town of Dufftown. The distillery was founded in 1975 by the Chivas Brothers and is one of the newer distilleries in Scotland. It was the first distillery to be designed with modernity in mind with all the equipment is in one room and the process from start to finish can be accomplished by one person. Nearly all Allt-A-Bhainne production goes into blended whisky including Chivas Regal.
