Not since Ardbeg’s ‘Lord of the Isles’ bottlings from over 10 years have we seen another 25-year-old expression from Ardbeg, so, behold the latest, yet oldest whisky expression to join the distillery’s core range. This 25-year-old stunner was bottled from incredibly rare casks filled during some of the Distillery’s darkest days in the mid 90’s when very little whisky was been produced. Due to the low output and significant age statement, the 25yo will only be released in miniscule quantities each year making it a real collectable with distinguished pedigree.

Dr. Bill Lumsden (Ardbeg’s head whisky maker) comments:
“After a quarter of a century in the cask, you’d be forgiven for imagining that Ardbeg 25 Years Old would have lost some of the hallmark smoky punch. I can assure you it hasn’t…. And yet there’s also a remarkable complexity and elegance to this whisky that I find utterly captivating. It’s unmistakably Ardbeg, but unlike any Ardbeg you’ve tasted before”

Magnificently presented in a blackish gun-metal bottle, it’s housed in a matching metallic casket within a knotted metal cage. Australia’s allocation was tiny and we only have a handful of bottles to sell.
