Description:
This elusive 23-year-old 1998 Vintage Feis Ile single-malt was distilled on the 28th of October 1998 and is an exceptional limited-edition whisky that was laid to rest for over 20 years in Bunnahabhain’s coastal warehouses on the shores of the Sound of Islay. It was then transferred into casks that once held sweet and fruity French Calvados Brandy on the 11th of November 2019 to finish for just under two years.
Bottled at 49.7% abv, non-chill filtered and with natural colour, this Islay festival release is truly something to savour and a rare offering in the Australian market. The packaging is absolutely stunning and it’s not a case of great packaging – average whisky, the liquid is divine.
Note that Bunna released two expressions for the 2022 Feis Ile and we have the other bottling (Abhainn Araig) available on our virtual shelves HERE
Interesting fact.
Calvados is a brandy (eau-de-vie) distilled from cider made from apples and pears grown in the orchards of north-western France. It is obtained from fruit that has already been fermented and is dependent on the terroir and the varieties harvested.
