Tasting notes: worldofwhisky.com
Nose: Hints of butter, tobacco, cedarwood, honey and earthy dunnage warehouses. Then slivers of cherries, cantaloupe and dried apricots. There’s a sliver of coconut shavings too, alongside some herbal influences.
Palate: Arriving on a fair amount of ginger. Some chili also. Feels slightly hot. But it’s not unbalanced. There are hints of cigar boxes, definitely some mint, maybe cough syrup and also liquorice root. And the sweet fruitiness adds some stability. It’s faint, but think apricots and yellow plums.
Finish: Medium length. Herbal notes at first, but ending with gentle orchard fruits.

Description
A well-aged Speysider aged in Manzanilla sherry hogsheads, a rather unusual sherry for the region. Lots going on with this one, dry and slightly nutty – it truly is a Speyside Enigma.
About Cadenhead’s Enigma series.
The whiskies in Cadenhead’s Enigma series are just that – unusual, hard to quantify, perhaps even slightly contradictory. They can be single casks, vattings of multiple casks, blends, blended malts or whatever else the team can find that doesn’t fit into their existing bottling line-up, but meets Cadenhead’s only essential criteria – that they’re delicious.
