Description
Manzanilla sherry, what a treat it is, produced exclusively in the bodegas of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, a town closer to the sea than Jerez in Spain. If only more whiskies were aged in these casks – lean, intense and delicious, it’s Cadenhead’s once again creating liquid gold with Jura’s seaside malt and this rarer style of sherry.

About Jura distillery
Jura distillery is located on the island of Jura in the Inner Hebrides off the West Coast of Scotland and is operated by Whyte & Mackay. Although the original Jura distillery was founded in the early 1800s, the rebuilt distillery we have now is a classic 1960s distillery, one of many that emerged in that boom period. In 2018, Jura underwent a radical revamp, introducing a completely new range of whiskies with a lightly smoky character and many independent bottlers attribute their soft new-make spirit as liquid gold.

Interesting Fact
In 1946, George Orwell described the location of the Isle of Jura as “Extremely unget-at-able” and the island remains difficult to reach today. Fast forward to 2023 and almost every family on the island has a member who works at the distillery or in whisky-related tourism. The inhabitants of Jura are known as Diurachs, which is their Gaelic name.
