Description
From the extensive collection of W.M. Cadenhead ‘Small Batch’ independent bottlings comes this 14-year-old year old single malt distilled by the Benrinnes Distillery in Speyside, Scotland. The distillery was founded in 1826 by Peter McKenzie and since then has been rebuild many times after been devastated by a flood in 1829 and then ravaged by fire in 1896. The distillery was rebuilt once again 1955 and is currently owned by Diageo.
The whisky was laid to rest for 14 years in a 3-bourbon hogshead’s and then bottled at cask strength in 2018. The result is a robust and meaty style of whisky with a hint of sulphur that adds to the complexity of the pour.
Like all Cadenhead’s expressions, this whisky is non-chill filtered with no added colouring.
