Official tasting notes.
“A surprising single malt, a mix of fresh fruit and metallic, stone fruit, apricot, and red apples, followed by some spiciness like cassia bark and mineral undertones. On the palate, it is oily with a slight bitterness, accompanied by a delicate perception of matches and smoke. The finish is long and fragrant. This expression is slightly more bitter”.

Description
With only 216 bottles released world-wide from a single cask (#301010A), this Speyside single malt from Dailuaine Distillery pays tribute to the king of Geometry; Euclid and Dante (Italian poet, prose writer, literary theorist, moral philosopher, and political thinker).
The whisky was aged in a refill, ex bourbon, 120 litre Koval Quarter Cask with the end result being nothing short of spectacular. Two casks were bottled at the same time due to the popularity of this whisky, and we also have the sister cask #301010A available on our virtual shelves.
Would make for an incredible side-by-side.
Antonio Bleve, owner of Samaroli comments;
“We have tried to emulate the patience of both Euclid & Dante while ageing and forming this malt in in a Koval cask from the legendary Chicago distillery. Hence, we were able to give rise to a very different evolution compared to other bourbon casks”.
About Dailuaine Distillery:
The Dailuaine distillery was built by William Mackenzie, a farmer from the Speyside town of Carron in 1852 and derives its name from the Gaelic ‘An dail uaine’ meaning ‘green valley’. Rarely seen as a single malt expression other than the occasional Flora & Fauna from owner Diageo, Dailuaine is one of the many hard-working distilleries which quietly provide fillings for blends such as Johhny Walker and independent bottlings for Gordon & MacPhail and Samaroli amongst others.
