Official tasting notes.
“At first, this Glen Garioch does not seem to want to give its best to the nose, as though to preserve itself for those who have the patience and the need to wait. But, after the initial prudishness, here come essences of wood (the bars of ancient establishments, and the ceilings impregnated by tobacco smoke) which open up delicately a path to menthol and the metallic, its supporting structure. The mouth gratifies us with notes of cumin, cinnamon and cardamom, leading to a juicy heart of cedar, sandalwood, and finally – more precious wood on the finish”.

Description
With only 306 bottles released world-wide from a single cask (#2979), this Highland single malt from Glen Garioch Distillery pays tribute to Art and “Dada”. Dadaism was an art movement formed during the First World War in Zurich in negative reaction to the horrors and folly of the war. The art, poetry and performance produced by dada artists is often satirical and nonsensical in nature.
The whisky was aged in a flavour fresh, first-fill bourbon cask and bottled at a robust 50% ABV. Been a single cask whisky means there aren’t many of these beauties left in the wild. Don’t miss out!
About Glen Garioch Distillery:
Glen Garioch distillery (pronounced “Geery” in the Doric dialect of Aberdeen) is one of the oldest whisky distilleries in Scotland, dating back to 1797. The distillery is famous for producing the finest barley in all of Scotland.
Ferments are short, giving a deep cereal and spice note to the new spirit which also has a distinctive waxy character. When mature, the heaviness changes into a thick, fat texture, allowing honeyed fruits and heather to emerge. It is operated by Morrison Bowmore Distillers, which is owned by the Japanese company Beam Suntory.
