This rare, little gem from Campbeltown’s Springbank Distillery is part of the Longrow, limited-edition ‘Wood Expressions’ range. The spirit was laid to rest for four and a half years in refill ex-bourbon casks before being finished for a further one and a half years in ‘fresh Gaja Barolo casks’ in Campbeltown’s seaside ageing facility. The result is a youthful and very smoky malt
For those of you who haven’t heard of Gaja Barolo casks;
‘Gaja’ is the surname of Angelo Gaja, the godfather of the modern-day Italian wine industry, and ‘Barolo’ is a famous and sought after Italian Red wine produced from the Nebbiolo grape using French oak barriques.
A discontinued, unique and rare Longrow expression that is unlikely to be ever repeated again.
