Official tasting notes.
Nose: Traditional Springbank aromas; saltiness, sea shells and fresh oysters bursting through. Followed just as intensely by pepper-jack cheese, honeycomb and vanilla pods.
Palate: Whipped cream, pear drops and a heathery note are quickly engulfed by barley water, sherbet mix, sugar cane, nectarines and dandelions.
Finish: A gentle dry peat circulates before squashed plums, raisins, cracked pepper and dry straw emerge.

Bottling Notes
This Springbank Fourth Release 9-year-old Local Barley was made in the same proud tradition of those mid 1960’s Local Barley beasts released in the 1990’s. It’s the 4th in a series of five expressions released over five years (2016-2020), made using ‘Optic’ barley that was grown just a few miles outside of Campbeltown on High Cattadale Farm. The spirit was aged in combination of 80% ex-bourbon casks and 20% European oak ex-sherry cask with a yield of 9700 bottles worldwide.
The end of the Springbank Local Barley series is near with the fifth and final expression due to complete the 5-set series. These complete sets will be highly sort after as collectors are already scrambling to buy up any remaining stock.
