Official tasting notes.
Nose: Bitumen, a touch of salt and a hint of underlying sweet fruit.
Palate: Very smooth with tropical fruits and a dusting of icing sugar before more of that smokiness comes through.

Description:
We’re suckers for an age statement Ledaig and this revelation is sensational.
Part of the line-up for the collaboration event between Whisky Uncovered/TBWC and Big Sam Young’s ‘S’more bistro’ in Castlecrag NSW held on the 30th of April 2023, guests were able to have first crack at purchasing this mighty 21-year-old that was laid down in 1997 in a single butt before it was offered for general sales if any stock remains available.
TBWC tells us about the label:
“Our label shows the spirit of Ledaig as a sentient planet smasher and off to eviscerate his rather more well-known peaty competition”.
Interesting Fact
The Tobermory distillery still remains the only whisky distillery on the Isle of Mull. The distillery producers two different, but alluring, single malts: the fruity, unpeated Tobermory and the more robust and smokier Ledaig (pronounced letch-ick’), meaning ‘safe haven’ in Gaelic that’s peated to 30-40ppm.
